Joanna was a steward for King Herod and is known in the biblical story as administering to Jesus. Joanna was among the group of women who went with Mary Magdalene to visit the tomb of Jesus. In the biblical history of Mary and Joseph, the name is also seen as Joanan. Joanan was Joseph’s ancestor, her name means, “The lord has been gracious.”
