We really should not take lightly, the rhetoric thrown around the political arena these days. It wasn’t that long ago, in 1935, when Hitler signed the Nuremberg Laws that forbid sexual relations between Jews and non-Jews. And there were a lot of people who actually thought it was a good idea. You’d be surprised (or maybe not) what happens to our minds when we attend large rallies and get all worked up. The Nuremberg Laws, that also removed Jews from many rights of citizenship, were part of the German Public Health system that Germans put their hard-earned tax dollars into. What a lot of people don’t realize, is that another Nazi public health practice, sterilization, was copied from the good ‘ol United States of America. Back then, which was not that long ago, there were plenty of people who thought sterilization of incarcerated women, particularly of color, was a good idea. There are a lot of good ideas that will make this world a better place but hate… is not one of them.
