Aaron is an ancient Hebrew name. He was a Levite, which meant he was a member of the tribe of Levi. Who were the Levites? They assisted the tabernacle priests with the sacred vessels. The third book of the Jewish Law of Moses is Leviticus, which contains the ceremonial laws for the Levites and the priests. Leviticus is also one of the books of the bible. Aaron was the high priest of the Jews. He referred to the ceremonial laws of Leviticus for his divine instruction.
