Secrecy Was Eventually the Demise of the Pythagorean Brotherhood


The Pythagoreans guarded their secrets well. Their meetings were cryptic and those who belonged were forbidden to speak of any of their discoveries. But alas, this secrecy brought with it a price. The ancient Italian government, in power at that time, grew suspicious and forced the closure of the Mathematical Wizard’s school. Eventually Pythagoras was murdered by those who opposed his teachings.
