Genealogy: Anglo-Saxon Jews? Ancient Germans? Ancient Danish Ancestors?

Standard

The Jutes were members of one of the Low German tribes of Jutland, some of them settled in Kent, England after their 5th century invasion. An adjective for Jute is “Jutish” pronounced jootish. I can hear a Danish-accented tongue saying Jute for Judah. Judah of course, meaning the tribe of Judah. Listen to the sounds … Tribe of Judah … Tribe of Jute … but that would be silly to assume from that alone. But Jews from Germany are Germans as well as Jews, so why not Jutes?
