666 The King of the Jews and the Lost Tribes of Israel

Standard

Yes, you read that right. Three hundred and forty six years ago, that’s how long it’s been since both Christians and Jews believed that 1666 would be the year “in which great things would occur.” In the fall of 1665 rumors began circulating throughout Europe about the lost tribes of Israel returning and the emergence of a new “King of the Jews.” Medieval Christians were thrilled with the news, believing the time was drawing near when the Jews would be converted to Christianity. The pressure was great for Jews to convert and many did, those who did not convert have kept an ancient belief system intact. Many Christians have ancestors who were “Hebrew Christians” before they were “Christians.”  It takes a bit of research to uncover these truths but it is well worth the journey.
