I guess, if you say so but I find it difficult these days to say I’m anything except all the above to any ethnicity. It’s got to be one of the more ridiculous titles we give ourselves these days and we all do it to define people, guilty here too but is that who we are? I imagine it helps matchmakers; it’s good to get-together with someone who shares the same cultural interests as you. But what about when we are defining where our ancestors came from? That is not who we are, it isn’t even who they were, especially back in the days when people were migratory, so why do we continue it? In some instances I think it stems from ethnicities that hid who they were so that they could receive equal opportunity at landing a job or buy a house in a good neighborhood. In this new millennium, people truly are becoming more color-blind and open to ethnic diversity. Today it’s cool to be ethnic and different. Stay away from those who don’t think so … they sound boring.
