The Swastika Early Christian Art?

Yes, before it was used to symbolize the Nazi regime, it was incorporated into early Christian art. I’ve heard it discussed for years what a pity it was that the symbol was highjacked to represent such destruction on a worldwide scale. The Sanskrit meaning of the swastika is “well-being” and was found in Europe long before there was the concept of “Aryans”, though it became an Aryan sun symbol. Buddhists brought the swastika into Japan and China and if you are sightseeing in Southern Italy you may spot it upon ancient pottery and in France it may be spotted in ancient remains. You’ll also find it woven into Native American basketry and it’s an odd feeling when you do.
